Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
ADA and Stonegate Country Club
The American Disabilities Act (ADA) has certain requirements on both state and federal levels. It is the desire of the Board of Directors to make sure that as we continue to make improvements to the facility we meet both state and federal regulations. In addition to meeting those requirements, it also assures that all Stonegate members have access to the facility. The ADA requirements are numerous on many fronts (parking, restrooms, accessibility, doors, drinking fountains and so on) including our pools and access to the lake.
For this reason we have secured an ADA licensed consulting firm to outline to the board a list of items that need attention. By law we do not have to update everything at one time, but we do need to create a timeframe and a list of priorities as to how we plan to meet the ADA requirements.
In the near future we will outline a 3 to 5 year plan to address those items that need attention. Those will be posted on this page.
The Board has elected to initiate the first stage of our ADA responsibilities. This will be the path of travel between the public access sidewalk on Lake Blvd. to the club house. A sidewalk will be installed running the length of the driveway along the left hand side. Included in these updates will be a new bicycle parking area and some additional landscaping.
Work on the sidewalk is scheduled for April 30th thru May 4th, 2012. The field and parking lot will remain open for the week of April 30th until May 4th.
Work on the parking lot re-surfacing project and re-striping will take place from May 7th until May 11th. The field, parking lot, boat ramp and basketball court will be closed for the week of May 7th until May 11th. The tennis gates will be open during this week and this will be our only access. Signs will be posted. All cars will need to park on Lake Blvd. during this week.
Work on the bike parking is still in the planning stages.
See the drawing below for details.
A full size drawing is available for viewing at the club.
If you have any comments or questions please let us know.
In the near future we will also create a "pick up" area at the base of the sidewalk (on Lake Blvd) so individuals can be picked up without the cars cars going into the club.
