Architectural Review

The regulations for the Stonegate Master Association require that before you begin a remodel or addition you must submit plans to the Architectural Review Committee. If the Committee finds that the revisions are in harmony with the neighborhood they will approve the plans.

Projects that require the submission of plans include: fences, reroofing, additions or remodels, out buildings, tree houses or gazebos. The entire list of requirements can be found in the CC&Rs in the section entitled Architectural Control which is found starting on page 16-C.

Plans should include a plot plan, elevations and a summary of the materials to be used.

If you have any questions about a project at your house, call the Club's manager, Steve Lillya, and he can answer any questions you may have.

The importance of Architectural Review

Our Stonegate Homeowner Association’s regulations require that you obtain permission to build or install any new improvements on your Stonegate lot. You must also obtain permission if you change something that exists, such as roofing material or exterior paint colors. Before you begin the construction or installation of any improvement, or apply to the City for a building permit, the Stonegate Owner must submit a written request for approval to the Architectural Review Committee. You can submit the documents to the Club’s manager at the Stonegate office.

The projects which need Architectural approval include:

___ Painting the exterior of your house         ____ Outbuildings & sheds
___ Remodeling the exterior of your home   ____ Tree houses
___ Decks & fences                                        ____ Antennas
___ Gazebos and shade structures               ____ Installing new roof
___ Adding a room or second story              ____ Installing solar panels
___ Installing or changing a dock                   ____ Changing windows/doors

Homeowner Associations exist to insure that their community is maintained to a high standard. The Architectural Review committee will grant approval if the improvement meets the Architectural Standards currently in affect is in harmony with other structures within the Stonegate Community and will not interfere with the reasonable enjoyment of other Owners of their property.

If you own a condominium at Lakeside Greens, The Woods or Sunset Villas, you belong to two homeowner associations. For these condominiums you will need approval from the condo association’s architectural review committee before you approach the Stonegate committee.

Our regulations require that we give you an answer within 30 days from when you submit your request. Normally the time line is less than the 30 days, but you should be prepared that it could take as long as 30 days.

We normally will not notify your neighbors that you are planning a remodel. However, if a variance is required, or if it is something out of the ordinary, we will inform your neighbors. To maintain friendly relations with your neighbors, it is always a good idea to keep your neighbors informed of pending changes to your home.

The complete set of regulations for Architectural Review is outlined in Article VI of the Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions, or CC&R’s. These may be viewed on line at our web site (Stonegatecc.com) If you have questions please call the Club Manager, Steve Lillya, at the Club office at 756-2285. Plans for projects should be submitted to Steve Lillya at the Office.
